In my latest paintings, despite using my usual technique of layers of acrylic paint covered by layers of resin, there has been a change from improvisation to intention. The intention to drive the viewer towards a space between certainty and not knowing.

The interaction between light and shadow are basic metaphors of life’s journey: a single empty chair inside a mysterious room, implying that someone left or is about to come, wide stairs ascending to infinite darkness, a person surrounded by rays of light deep in thoughts.

Each painting intends to evoke the uncertainty of waiting, the impossibility of finding the right path after incessant hesitation, they are not external images but projections of an inner space, moments suspended between light and shadow, they are an invitation to enter, look around and experience the never ending mystery of our existence.
